Dating, sex, or marriage? – This could be the Hungarian Tinder

The new Hungarian dating application is full of ideas and is also playful; the members can search for friends or dates, and thousands of people are already using it in Budapest. Hvg.hu collected the features that Tinder doesn’t have.

The new Hungarian dating application is not only about swiping left or right; Nearones helps people to find friends and dating partners with the same interests. It’s already available on Android and iOS, hvg.hu writes. The basic settings allow users to search for both men and women, so it’s possible to find friends via the app. In the upper right corner we can also choose between the two sexes.

Registration is possible by using our Facebook or Google account, or a different email address, and then we have to go through 3 simple steps to finish our profile. Users have to choose icons that represent their interests in sport, music, entertainment, etc., and it already offers more options than Tinder.

The next step is to make a profile picture: it can be done within the app, or from the phone’s gallery or via Facebook. If you choose the latter option then it’s good to know that you can’t choose your current profile picture; only photos you’ve shared. The last step is to give your birth date.

Now comes the hard part: under the profile picture of every potential date or friend there are 3 interests; only one was given by the user, the two other are chosen random. It’s only possible to start chatting with someone if we picked the right interest. If their interest is the same as ours then we already have something in common.

It’s possible to change the settings and give details on who can contact us, but if we leave the default settings then those who guess right can automatically send us a message. If there’s a match, users can find out more about the potential partners by looking at their Twitter and Instagram account, if they have one linked to the app.

Through the bell icon we can reach our messages and notifications, and right next to it is an extremely useful option: if we let the app use our location, then we can see the profiles of everyone in a 150 metre circle who have been at least once where we are now. So if you’ve seen someone on the bus but never dared to speak to them and they use the same application, then there’s the chance to find out more about them.

More than 4000 users registered in the first three weeks – mostly from Budapest – and more than a thousand of them still use the app daily. Who knows, maybe this Hungarian invention will be the new Tinder.
